Natalie Hilzen
Program Officer
As Program Officer, Natalie Hilzen monitors grant performance and program progress to ensure the achievement of project goals that deliver social impact and enhance the lives of individuals who are visually impaired. Formerly the director and editor in chief of AFB Press, the publications arm of the American Foundation for the Blind, Natalie’s previous 26 years’ experience in the field of blindness and visual impairment provide the Fund with an additional resource in support of its ongoing mission.
A professional editor of scholarly, professional, and reference books and journals and developer of website content, Natalie is a magna cum laude graduate of the City College of New York and holder of an MA degree from New York University. In 2010 she was personally awarded the C. Warren Bledsoe Award for outstanding contributions to the literature of the visual impairment field by the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired.
